Hi guys! I am so excited to be back in the swing of things, and have so much good news to share about the new students I have met and what the Lord is doing in this ministry. Let’s jump right in.
Weeks of Welcome
Every August, all of the new students at UNT move in a week early and have time to learn about the campus and get settled into their new college life. During this week and the first week of classes, we try to meet as many of them as we can and spend all of our time on campus doing outreach and hosting events for the students we meet to have some fun! This year we were able to run three events every night (!!), mostly due to our large staff team. And it was such a blessing. We met so many students that we ran out of space in the normal room for Thursday Night Fellowship.

I got to host a Bubble Run 5K, a Sunset Yoga class, and an event called Everything’s Bigger in Texas with lots of oversized sports and games. Everything went so smoothly! Would you all be praying for the new students that we met? A few that I am getting to know are Savannah, Tionnie, and Mackenzie. Pray that they find good friends and learn to know and love God even more deeply during their time in college!

Staff Retreat
Every summer our staff team from all across DFW gets together in Glen Rose, TX for a time of staff development, fellowship, and lots of good food! Most of us are great friends but don’t often get to see each other because we live far apart and have busy schedules, so it is so sweet to get 4 days of time to catch up on lives and on how the other campuses are doing. We get to learn from our leaders Brandon and Mandy and get ideas for new events that have gone well on our other campuses.
The best part is our annual staff softball game where I am the only girl that plays!! But this year I convinced a few of the other younger women on staff to join me. :) Everyone else watches and cheers from the stands. It’s lots of fun!

Baptisms!
Just before we started the year, I had the sweet opportunity to baptize one of my students, Maddie. She and I studied the bible together last year and she decided that she wanted to get baptized to make the public statement that Jesus is lord of her life! Maddie also said yes to the opportunity to be one of our student leaders this year and will be leading with her friend Laigton. I am so excited for all that the Lord has done in Maddie’s life and what He will continue to do.

Along with Maddie, four other students got baptized and gave their lives to Christ! Say a prayer of thanks for these students!
Sweet Roommates
I got to move in with a few of the girls that were in my small group last year plus one of our new apprentices who moved up to Denton from UTD (woosh). Last year I had a vision for creating a ministry house with a culture of hospitality and love. I thought this would be something that it took a lot of time and effort to cultivate, but we have been here for one month now, and there’s not a time when someone isnt here using our space to bless this community. We are able to host a 25 person meeting for our student leaders, and three small groups throughout the week. It is such a blessing to live here and I am so thankful for these sweet friends. Would you pray that we continue to steward the gifts God has given us for His glory and His good?
We had a friend take some roomie pictures for us and they turned out so good!

That’s all for now! Thank you for giving to and praying for my ministry. I could not do this work without you!
Love, Hannah
