The title of this blog comes from an album called Family Nights, Vol 1: All Your Heart by Mission House that has been so encouraging to me lately. It is full of exhortations to dwell with the Lord and depend on Him and I would highly encourage that you give it a listen! As we enter the holiday season, I want to remember why we celebrate in the first place and be sure I give time to the God that makes this all possible.
This month I got to see so much of His goodness and I want to tell you all about it!
Fall Retreat

These are from our fall retreat! Each year we get to take all of our Denton students to a camp in and spend 24 hours unplugged. As a student at UTD I remember these weekends being the first time each year that I developed close friendships with the girls in my core. Now, as a staff member, I love getting to intentionally create an atmosphere and activities that will facilitate that same thing for my students. If you look at the middle picture on the left, that is some of my core and I doing “5 person yoga” or basically just doing cool tricks. We spent hours trying all kinds of different poses that usually collapsed into a pile of laughter.
Halloween

Denton loves any excuse to get dressed up and everyone went all out like they always do. My roommates and I decided to be Despicable Me because it is my favorite movie that I quote to them multiple times a day. There are three ministry houses on my street and we all hosted a house crawl after TNF for Halloween. My house was the costume contest so it was packed because that is always the most popular event.
Life in Denton

I love my life here. It is simple but so so sweet. I get to celebrate old roomies as they get married, be close to my mom, take my little pup everywhere, and I always have friends I can count on. I am so blessed by the Lord in this season and wouldn’t trade it for anything else. As you read this, would you just take a few minutes to thank God for what He has done in your life? I have been struck by his abundant goodness and hope that you all can see it too.
Again, I am thankful for how you all make these things possible. Love you all.
Hannah
